"You do make some valid points; however," Vilqa leaned in, "Do not make this
a habit to try and weasel out of away missions. There will only be so many
opportunities to do so. Take off your EVA suit and report to sickbay
immediately." She wasn't so much angry at Ivri it was the fact that both Nix
and Ivri contacted her now, the very last minute to be removed from the away
team. The situation, not the people pissed me off. "Anybody else not feel
like going?" She yelled out to the team gathered as she reacted on pure
instinct and stress more than anything else.

Justin almost replied that he should not go because of the increased
radiation and how Trills are more susceptable, then thought better of it.

Nick... much like the rest of the security members present responded with
silence, simply standing in their EVA suits, ready for inspection... but
even with their
silence, and proper stance (almost the position of
attention, but not quite), the anticipation of going on an away mission was
thick. They were not only ready to go, but excited to do so. Nick had only
been on two away missions since being on the Ridge... he was looking forward
to another... maybe this one would go as good as the first one... he hoped.

Cait gave the Captain one of her most impish and wickedest looks she could
manage..and she could manage some pretty good ones. For one moment, the
desire to poke at her captain was overwhelming and her hand twitched with
its need to rise and wave that she didn't want to go. Course, that wasn't
true, she couldn't wait to get down there and get to work but the look on
K`y's face would be priceless until the quarter Klingon killed her. For a
moment, her love of poking command warred with her common sense. Common
sense won and her hand relaxed its twitching.

Vilqa simply glared at Cait momentarily.

Kat heard the captain and shrugged there was no way she would turn this
chance to prove she was finally putting the attack behind her and going back
to being her charming self once again. She looked in the captain's direction
giving her a look of determination making it clear that she was definitely
going. She looked at it two ways prove to those around her she was more in
control and for however brief a time it was time off the ridge which she
felt was much needed for her to completely recover.

Marcus lumbered into line, stirred from his own thoughts by the vacillating
voice of the captain. Well, maybe vacillating was the wrong word, and
oscillating wasn't right either, hmm, purely
shouting would do. He looked to
the captain. "My operations team have everything under control, I'm ready to
move to the surface." He then glanced at Justin, "Assuming my suit is fine."

Justin moved over to check Marcus' suit.

"Doctor Blake?" K`y then motioned with her fingers for the woman to
approach.

Wiping the expression of incipit mischief and mayhem off her face and
replacing it with her doctor face, Cait scooted over to Vilqa. "Yes,
Captain?"

"There has been a change of plans with Counsellor Ivri." Calmness,
calmness, calmness was the mantra in her head, "She is staying on
board the vessel. That now means you are one crew member short. If you
need another now is your chance to comm a member on your team. I don't
want you lacking the necessary personnel while plansetside."

Cait frowned, mentally saying some things best left unsaid. "I need a
counselor planetside....I'd like Ensign
Larkens then. She's had some psych
training."

"How about Doctor Jurard? Perhaps he is an option to join your team on
the surface Cait?" Vilqa was amazed she even remembered the name at
the drop of a hat.

Cait considered the suggestion for a long moment and nodded. "He'll be just
fine. Time to break that youngster in, so to speak."

Kylee waited patiently for the captain to respond to her request. She had a
feeling Vilqa wouldn't like her going off on her own, but perhaps she could
work out something to allow her to follow her hunch about the asteroid
field.

Vilqa finally turned toward Nix, "Speak with Commander Lox to confirm which
shuttles have had recent servicing then come and see Commander Blake and I
in a few hours once we know everybody is settled on the planet and we can
discuss your request."

Kylee nodded, glad to not have to try and slither in to those damn EVA
suits, hers never fitting comfortably on her body, meaning she felt
restricted. "Yes captain, I'll speak with him right away," she said, nodding
once more before turning on her heels heading over to Commander Lox.

Justin looked at Marcus "Your suit checks out, however according to the on
board computer, it is nearing
it's end of life. After this mission, it will
need to be replaced. Though that is probably good advice for everyone due
to the radiation we will be dealing with."

"Well that's comforting." He gave a crooked smile, "Just what decides when
that life is at an end?" He asked the question while thinking that he might
just change suits anyway. Better safe than sorry right?

"Well.. two different factors. Wear and tear, radiation absorption, and
just general usage time. Yours happens to be the last. It is the least
worrying as it is an arbitrary time set by some manager at Starfleet."
Justin replied. "Your radiation absorption and wear and tear markers show
your suit almost unused, except for training sessions."

Marcus grunted, "Much better." He smiled again, "That's exactly what
I
wanted to hear."

Toby watched over the chaos, or what appeared to be chaos, looking for signs
of problems. Spotting and feeling none, he relaxed for a bit. He'd check
again before people left.
