    Kat
looked over the roster on the PADD muttering to herself. She assembled
the teams of three each. "I need teams one and two to meet with me in
the cargo bay , team three you are to be on stand by here, to see to it
that any supplies we've missed are brought to the cargo bay." She told
them in a voice unlike her own, this was where the commander had to
take a stand and be able to do her job. She shuddered at the memory of
the Tamco so fresh in her mind. She wasn't about to appear weak again.

   She tapped her com. "Wilkinson
to Virdian." she stated.

  <Cargo bay>

"This is
Viridian ... go ahead Wilkinson" Kator was in the middle of sorting out
his own gear for the away missions as well as assembling teams together
"Isaac your up!" he called out before looking to his commbadge "Oh Sorry
Doc ... miles away" he laughed a bit having realized he had starting
shouting orders with his comm badge still live.

<sickbay>

"Lieutenant....I need to get with you over setting up the cargo hold."
Kat said while she made motions with her hands giving the crews
assembled before her silent instructions while she talked with Kator.
"Could you possibly meet me in say about thirty minutes?" she asked.
"I'll be taking at least two of my teams to the cargo hold to begin
setting up." she told him.

<Cargo bay>

"I'm
already here Commander ... getting the cargo bay cleared ready to
receive injured ... or even deceased if the word calls for it" he spoke
motioning to one of his men much like
Kate was "Put them over there
that will do fine there" he spoke to another as he pointed speaking back
to his communicator "Meet us down here commander when your ready ...
you know about the 3 security per 1 medical member correct?" he spoke
clearly.

<sickbay>

      Kat furrowed her brows
looking over the teams she'd assembled.  "Sounds like a plan Lieutenant,
we'll be there an a few." she said. Kat hated sounding formal and all
but this would be her mission and she wasn't about to make any mistakes,
there was too much on the line again.  "So I'll be there in a few to go
over the details with you.......Wilkinson out" she said tapping her com
and closing the link. Kat hadn't really heard about the ratio before
then, she looked over the crew she'd assembled and downsized again each
team would have one doc and one technician. "Okay I think we need to
regroup...Phillips, Lindstrom, and Smythe, you are dismissed to go about
your duties....the rest of you, have your orders." she said with a nod
before heading off to the cargo hold.

<Cargo hold some
minutes later>

Kator had leant himself against one of the
crates waiting and discussing some off duty things with his staff, well
not his staff but his away team staff "Hm ... Man if Medical teams are
this quick ... I'd rather carry myself home" he smirked but only to
himself. They were having a break from the container shifting, a quick
lunch and various snacks as they waited for the others to show up, he
never liked sending his teams off to have lunch at the mess but would
rather they stayed together to bond a bit during their meal times, this
is where most conversations sparked up anyway.

    Kat and her
team stepped inside the cargo hold. "Ok  you all know what to do." she
instructed watching as her teams dispersed before she approached
Virdian.  "Lieutenant.." she said catching the tail end if his
muttering. "I would like a word with you about the details for this
mission." she said. Kat glanced over at one team for a moment as they
began to set up the triage area. She turned her emerald gaze back on the
lieutenant swallowing hard as she tried to keep her focus professional
while memories of their night out haunted her she'd wondered why she
hadn't seen much of ensign Jackson since the rumors had gone around the
ship.

"Yes commander he asked watching her walk to him" as he
stood with his teams for a moment before moving, walking to her a bit
"My teams are set, combat gear ready ... envirosuits on standby" he said
giving a glance to her gaze, he smirked just slightly as he watched for
 her return.

"Sounds good....your team is welcome to help set
up the area for triage and or morgue." she said simply. "At least we
can be busy with that until we're given the go to board shuttles and get
underway." she added. Kat winced at the mention of the envirosuits as
she hated wearing them especially on the last mission in the caves. "Are
we really certain we'll need the envirosuits?" she asked trying to
recall if Cait mentioned the use of them.

"Possibility of air
decompression after the ship has been unable to comply with responses
seems pretty high don't you think doctor ... and do you know how long
you can hold your lungs in deep space for ... let alone how long it
would take to clear a shuttle?" he gave a pause.

 Kat smirked at
that "Ah right....of course that all depends on if this mission actually
happens..as it seems the Patagonia has disappeared." she said with a
grimace. while in her mind the word Tamco kept popping in her thoughts.
"alright so we know the security medical ratio...and as far as I can
tell we're in a holding pattern until the ship is found." she told him.
"Is everyone on your detail up to snuff on their medical training?" she
asked. "I suppose we could run a few mock drills while we wait  in
addition to setting things up." Kat suggested.

"Well some of us
have simple first aid but ... I don't think we'll be able to do the more
complicated tasks ... that's up to the medical teams you've provided,
our job will be to watch your backs ... if there is indeed a threat at
all" he spoke moving his hand a bit to strain his sentences "But I would
rather we started off in Enviro suits upon boarding ... as a precaution
... they can be removed if the atmosphere is breathable" he looked to
her eyes once more for a second.

"Simple first aid is good but
if we need to move a patient...that will certainly be where your team
will come in." she stated glancing at her PADD looking over the supplies
list hoping what they were setting up would be for triage rather than
for a makeshift morgue, Kat hadn't dealt to much with that part of
medicine since her early medical training days at the academy. "I
believe it would be a good idea to do that ...but I wouldn't advise
anyone to put on an envirosuit until we are given further orders." she
said. "I mean what would be the point of donning the suits now when it
could be several hours before the other ship is found.......right?" she
asked.

"Indeed that sounds reasonable ... they are all prepared
at least" he smiled to her for a second before moving around to look at
her PADD "Okay ... how much medical stuffs are you wanting to take ... I
would like security to be free handed to deal with anything unexpected,
although once the ship is given the all clear we can move to a more
medical role ... that way we are always prepared ... so only take what
you and your team can carry as essential" he looked to her as he moved
back a bit to give her space.

Kat smirked as Kator moved close
to glance at her PADD. "THIS is a list of supplies needed for this
room" she told him as she shifted back a little. "What makes you think
we'll be bringing alot of stuff?" she asked. "Each of my officers is and
will be equipped with complete medical kits required for away
missions....there will be additional supplies on the shuttle if needed."
she explained. "Trust me lieutenant." she said almost spitting the word
"YOUR officers will not be encumbered with medical supplies." she said
with a slight groan feeling a little irritated as she backed away from
him gaining a little space.

"Sorry Kat ... I'm just trying to
make sure that my men have free hands to defend the medicals teams if
the need arises ... I'm not trying to put pressure on you or anything, I
have my orders and you have yours, I'm trying to make sure that we can
both fulfill our duties without endangering lives of either the crew left
on the Patagonia or the crews of the away teams" he spoke looking to
her but giving a kind smile along with it, in heart he was a caring man
but had troubles as usual trying to express that without seeming
'weird'.

Kat smirked at his response. "Well it seemed like
you thought I'd never been on an away..I know we never really had much
of a chance to work together on the Scylax  but then again my department
was in an almost constant state of flux for command not to mention it
was my first assignment out of the academy." she said turning away from
him for a moment remembering something else she had been dealing with on
the Scylax. She regained her composure and turned back pushing the
memory of her late husband out of her mind. "I didn't get this title of
lieutenant commander by accident.....to live up to that title is
pressure believe me." she explained. "I have my own worries about this
mission...as this is the second time I'll be in charge and I don't want
to risk having it fail too." she said thinking back to the Tamco and
feeling a bit queasy for it's failure, sure it was a trap but she still
felt like she didn't act as she should have.

       Kat took a
deep breath blowing it out in a thin sigh. "let's allow our teams to
finish setting things up here and you and I could go prep the shuttle,
I'll pull in my third team to bring the supplies." she added.

"Of course commander" he smirked not really liking that "Think I'll
stick with Kate ... Never liked the Sir, Ma'am or what nots" he smirked
again looking to her "so what do you think we're gonna need? ... would
be nice to get a hold of some of those emergency transporters ...
although with the wormhole so close I doubt we'd even reach the Vimy
before we had time to shout Geronimo" he gave a slight pause before
smirking to himself once again.

    "it's Kat  or Katerina" she
corrected. "don't joke about that ...during the Tamco mission a near
warp transport was needed to get the crew aboard the shuttle back to the
ridge." she explained. as she made a few notations on her PADD. "Trust
me you don't ever wanna go through that." she told him. "coming back
felt more like trying to squeeze through a door only opened a crack and
unable to open further." she added as she headed towards the direction
of the shuttle bay.

"Ups and downs come with the territory I guess ... not trying to
take from your experiences but ... everyone treats each situation
differently and can handle it better or worse than others" he looked to
her as he walked with her "But your right ... I'd rather not go through
that, close calls are the ones I'd rather not get into ... nor do I want
them to happen" he smiled sweetly before looking back to her "So I
heard that you and the chief are kinda ... well ... together ish ...
rumors ... that kind of rubbish you know?" he said bringing the talks
into more private.

Kat nodded as they walked the corridor
heading for the shuttle bay. "Some experiences I'd sooner like to
forget." she said softly. She then smirked and even blushed slightly as
Kator inquired out her ties to his commanding officer. She bit her lip
thinking quickly. "We're just friends." she told him curtly brushing a
strand of hair from her face. "maybe even close friends." she added
hoping it would drop that bit of conversation right there.

He couldn't help but give a faint laugh for a second "okay ...
sorry for asking" he said as he glanced over at her PADD for "Right so
who's on first team in ... or are we having multiple teams board? ...
I'd rather it be a first scout before we send others over, that way we
can be sure its safe a lot quicker" he spoke as he looked to her
briefly.

"Do you have any idea how that rumor got started?"
she asked as they reached the shuttle bay. She made a few more notations
on the PADD and then handed it to Kator. "This is a list of things my
team is bringi....." she said pausing as she saw the team already in the
shuttle bay goofing off with the supplies she'd requested they deliver.
She watched as crewman Abrams elbowed his fellow technician "Attention
on deck" he said glancing over at Parks who couldn't help but to giggle
like a schoolgirl as she watched Kat and Kator enter. She smirked back
at Abrams 'wonder if it's strictly platonic between those two.' she
muttered. Kat had moved closer when she caught that being said. "Crewman
Parks that'll be enough of that." she said sternly. "You two are to
assist the lieutenant here in loading these supplies on the
shuttle."You'll follow his orders...understood" she told them. "Yes
Ma'am." was the resounding response she received from the mischievous
pair. "Sorry commander" the pair added still smirking at each other. Kat
grimaced as she watched the pair. "Enough! or you'll both find
yourselves not only on report but pulling extra duty with doctor Blake."
she said. Not that duty with Cait was bad but she could be a hard
taskmaster when it was necessary. The pair looked over at Kator "your
orders sir?" they asked. Kat smiled proudly as her subordinates
complied. She looked over at Kator "You stay here and see to it that
these two do as instructed while I go back to the cargo bay and
supervise that detail, I'll send a couple of your men over if you think
you'll need them." she added.

He gave a slight smirk watching the scene for a second before he
was called up "Aye commander" he gave a little smile before looking to
them both "First off ... No sirs ... I hate that ... lets just get this
stuff loaded shall we? ... no dawdling either" he laughed moving to one
of the smaller boxes and stacking into onto a slight larger one before
carrying it over and into the shuttle. He was never such a bossy man,
some people wondered how he managed to keep security in order at times,
maybe it was his lack of such strict 'hierarchy' discipline that allowed
his men to feel a bit calmer in their work rather than on edge and
looking out for an officer all the time.

   Kat sighed softly
giving Kator a nod and a light smile before she turned to head back to
the cargo hold. She didn't exactly like pressing the formalities of her
title but it was needed to show that she was not just one of the ship's
doctors but she had earned the pips on her collar and wore them with
pride. "I'll contact you once we're given the go to send the first
team...that is if we locate the missing ship." she said before walking
out into the corridor and heading back to the cargo hold.

"Oh and Commander ... have fun" he smiled quickly seeing she was a
bit down in his eyes, but he tried his best to cheer her up even if it
was just the slightest "I know I will" a laugh imminent at his own
little joke, looking to the 2 medical members "Come on guys chop chop!"
he said as he tried to coax them into doing their duty with a bit of a
double clap from his hands.

<corridor leading back to the cargo bay>

Kat smirked at the comment it wasn't that she was down at all she was merely feeling the pressure of the pending mission. Kat wanted everything to go smoothly barring the possibility of it being a trap they were running into. She bit her lip lightly glancing at the PADD going over the details again and again. 'never can be too careful..' she muttered before she stepped back into the cargo bay smiling as the teams she'd left momentarily were making progress at getting things set up.
