[XO's Quarters]

Not paying attention to the location of the two fairy lizards that were part
of the family, Toby grabbed what he'd forgotten earlier and headed out of
the quarters he shared with his wife, daughter and Jewel and Ali the two
fairy lizards. He never saw Ali make her escape, his mind on the PADD in his
hand and on the reason he needed it. He headed off, down the corridor one
way. While Ali, wisely, went the other. The little irridescent winged
sapphire blue lizard was on the hunt.

Now that she had made her escape and stretched her wings, Ali was looking
for the hatchling that belonged to her and her mother's humans. In her
search she flew in and out of various rooms, with the aid of the comings and
goings of the crew, helping herself to a flower that was on a vase on a
table in an area where many gathered.

In and out of turbo lifts went the little fairy lizard, and up and down the
corridors, with no success in finding the hatchling, though there was a
tense moment of a near miss with the boss of her human. The human wasn't
mean, the human just wasn't as friendly as others probably the result of
those funny bumps on the upper facial region. She wasn't sure how such
things went for humans, but she did not find those ridges overly attractive,
now if those ridges were on another fairy lizard, that was different.

Finally Ali was forced to land to rest a moment, and she trilled calling out
to the little hatchling, hoping she would call out so the sound could be
followed.

Ivri was on her way to a workout, she had put it off for far to long. Her
small frame stepped lightly and lively in anticipation. The Counselor paused
for a moment not sure what it was that she heard. She glanced around her
dark eyes clouded half in fear and half in curiosity. "What was that..." She
shook her bald head, not sure if she had heard any thing. The Counselor
shrugged and turned to continue on her way. Perhaps she should forget the
workout and get a physical. The Counselor had not had one since the incident
Dr. Braden and his pheromone experiment. 

Getting no response, the little sapphire lizard took to wing once more and
flitted down the corridor, rode another turbo lift and came out in another
corridor and flew along, looking for the hatchling. Comeing to stop in the
middle of another large intersection to trill and call out for the hatchling
once more.

Melissa and Justin were talking as they walked down the corridor.  Both ere
off duty, and taking a relaxing walk in one of the lesser used corridors, on
their way to a quiet dinner.  "Do you hear that?" Justin asked.

Mellissa nodded "Yes, but what is it?"

Justin shook his head "I don't know.  Something must have gotten out of
sciences holding pens."  He tapped his comm. "Lox to Sciences.. We seem to
have an escaped critter on Deck 8, section 4.  You will want to come
retrieve it."

Voice heard and recognized, Ali took to the air and flew in the direction of
Justin's voice, trilling, chirping, hissing, and a plethora of other sounds
that made up her language as she asked this human friend of her pet, where
the pet's hatchling was.

"Whoa there little lady!" Justin said as he tried to fend off the aggressive
fairly lizard. "How did you get out?"

Melissa looked at the little dragon wide eyes and awe.

Justin tapped his comm again. "Lox to Sciences, cancel my last request.  I
have found the creature in question.  I will see about returning it to it's
home." He reached out to give Ali a place to land. "Are you looking for
someone?"

Ali lights on Justin's arm trilling and whistling at him.

Justin listens to the little lizard, while Melissa watched.  

"It sounds like it is looking for someone." Said Melissa.

"That is does.  Ali?  You know Toby is on the bridge.  Cait is in sickbay.
You know where both of those are. Why are you down here hunting?"  Justin
asked.

The little winged lizard studied Justin for several minutes before trilling
the melody of one of the lullabies Cait often sings to Rose.

"Oh.  You are looking for Rose.  She is in the daycare area.. deck 4."
Justin said.  

Melissa smiled "That's cute.  I didn't know they could sing like that."

"Lox to Commander Toby Blake.." Justin tapped his comm.

"Blake here." Came Toby's slightly harrassed sounding voice.

"Your little lizard is out hunting for Rose.  I just found her on Deck 8."
Justin replied. "Should I take her to the daycare, or to your office?" He
asked, hoping to keep things short to the overworked Executive Officer.


"Bring her to my office please." The sigh was evident in his voice.

"Okay." replied Justin as he tapped his com to close the connection. Then he
and Melissa, took the little lizard, up to Toby's office.
